Daily Create: Anti-Wire

Today’s Daily Create was to not describe The Wire.

Here is my response:

The Wire is a sitcom about the families who all live an apartment complex in Baltimore. Their shenanigans always end with an important life lesson. It’s a great family show.

I wanted to keep it simple, but also frame it in all that it is not. Sitcoms seem like the farthest thing from these hour-long, intense documentary episodes. It’s not about the characters as much as it’s about Baltimore as a character. They aren’t shenanigans as much as they are crimes. There are no real lessons learned in this show. It is definitely geared toward mature audiences.
