For my first design assignment of the week, I did an otherworldly distortion assignment (worth 1 star). I used a picture I took of the alps when I was visiting Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, and distorted it so the mountains were red. I got the inspiration for this form Doctor Who’s Gallifrey.
To make it I used photoshop and had two identical layers of the original photo. I made the top layer red by playing with the hue and saturation. I then used the Quick Selection tool to grab the sky on the top layer and delete it, so that the sky still came through as blue from the bottom layer.
