Weeks 11 + 12: Double Combo Wombo

Two weeks in one! For the past two weeks we not only wrapped up video week, but we began preparations towards our final projects. My subject of choice was Howard “Bunny” Colvin from The Wire, and I’ll be creating a fictional narrative for him over various social media sites. At this point, I have plenty of experience with managing those aspects of life.

To manage Bunny’s social media accounts, I did everything for him on Chrome so it didn’t conflict with my accounts on Firefox. Since Bunny seems like an old-fashioned professional type, I made him a Linkedin account. He’ll be needing a job too after his unfortunate firing from the police department. I also made him a facebook account as an easy way to make updates, and a flickr account to share an pictures I think could be relevant to not only the show, but his experiences as well. I also included a short bio of him, for people unfamiliar with the character.

In terms of video assignments, I did some special focus on the actual show. John and I recreated a scene from the first season, and I also did an in-depth analysis of a later episode. For fun, I also did a Vine puzzle to guess a book title. These all had their various challenges to overcome, especially when I had to practice acting and narrating, as well as video editing.

For daily creates, I did 2 each week. I made a smart alec haiku, and a post of my home away from home. I also experimented with a Warhol-esque antifilm, as well as some fun with my pet cat.

We’re nearing the end game. I’m assuming next week will mainly be focused on the social media sites I set up. So we’ll see how that goes!
