What’s the Point?

Vignelli Cannon Thoughts and Commentary

In reading this weeks Vignelli Cannon the biggest aspect which was brought out was the fact that he states

in his cannon that if you design something and no one understands it then the design is completely useless.  It is important in considering such occurrences because through my designs this week.

I will admit that I was worried about what people may think of my amateur Photoshop designs however,  I wanted to make sure that I gave meaning to each piece that I created.  This week was equally important because we had three explosive episodes in The Wire.     The most applicable assignment I enjoyed was the Sobotka i.d. assignment. It was a creative way of expressing what happened to Sobotka during these episodes.    Therefore I think that the brass tax of designing is to design with a purpose, don’t feel as if you have to slap something together to do it right and make art that makes people think…not something that they have no clue on what to think about.
