The lighting and the staging in this scene is well done. It’s interesting that Michael is sitting so much farther away from the others.
Randy sitting alone at a lunch table because everyone’s been told that he’s a snitch. He’s really been playing an important role in this season’s plot and it was hard to see him get beat up later in the episode because of what he’s been doing.
I love the colors of their shirts, very warm and comforting. The positioning of their heads in this shot was well done too.
Bubbles and Sherrod look very similar in this lighting. They’re both difficult to make out.
Another shot where you can just make out the kids. There’s greenish light that gives it a very eerie feeling.
Another way of bringing in references to the game.
I love how Carcetti is framed by the window and that almost everything is black.
We have blue, red, and yellow colors around Bodie on an orange table. This is very season 1 color palette. There’s also McNulty’s reflection in the mirror behind Bodie. This is one of my favorite shots from this episode.
Classic shot of the Detail.
I love how the doorway frames Bunk. It really does have a tomb or catacomb feel to it.
There’s something about the way Bunk is tilting his head like a dog that I really like.
This is such a great shot. Bunk really stands out from his surroundings. There’s also this sense of a whole lot of possibility of what lies inside these buildings as well as how Freamon pieced this together so quickly.
