This week was focused on inspiration and reflection on the radio shows. Everyone did such a great job on their radio shows, I was so impressed! Unfortunately, I was unable to live tweet about one, so instead I did two more inspire post
The Wire
Episode 5- Avon is out of jail! Avon got released on parole, but he seems lost at the party he goes to with Stringer. You can tell he is actively thinking about what his status is within his own crew. The violence is starting to get to be too much for me, especially when they beat up the boy. You could tell Cutty did not have his head in the game, he looked away a few times when they were beating up the boy. Bubs is considering being a paid CI, but Jonny does not agree he should go be a narc. Kima and McNulty are still so caught up on Stringer Bell and the Barkstale organization, they are starting not to follow orders by Daniels.
Episode 6- Avon wants his corners back and is going over Stringer’s head. It is apparent that Stringer is hiding something from Avon because of how he acts when Avon talks about Marlo. Corruption is very apparent in this episode between the authority figures. The city delays Stringers permits just to get more money out of him, because they know he can afford it. So Stringer goes to the corrupt councilman to make him go bribe the inspectors to do it faster. Then, the mayor ignores the fact a witness to a crime was killed when it was brought to his attention. The police do what they want. Burrell tells his men to do anything they want to get the hoppers and drug dealers to go to the free territories.
Episode 7- Technology is advancing, leaving the police stumped. With all the burner phones that get used and then disposed, the police are having a hard time trying to get a wire put up on them. The city police now found out about the free zones Burrell has created, after a car stop on Bodi. Daniels is getting tired of McNulty and tells him once Stringer is cuffed, he is no longer welcome in his unit. Kima and her significant other are having issues, which parallels McNulty’s life. They are starting to become more and more alike.
