The first episode of the third season of The Wire was another interesting episode. The thing about this episode is that it made me think about life as circles. When I say circles I mean it in the way that everything that has already happened is happening again just with new people and in some new places. The first thing that made me think about this was the new young drug dealers. They reminded me of Wallace and the gang from the first season. I couldn’t help but giggle when I saw them. What made it even more interesting was that Bodie was around when Wallace was still alive and it seems like he is one of the only people to survive from the Barksdale organization. That’s another thing that caught my attention was the number of people who were involved in anyway with the Barksdale organization and how they disappeared. The second thing that made me think about circles was Lester and Kima and how they transitioned right into trying to take down another organization. It’s amazing because as of now they’re trying the same thing with the phones and I could see how frustrated Lester was getting. Maybe that’s what has to break this circle and they have to take down the organization in a different way.
