For my final audio assignment I did “One question.” I had to choose an open ended question, ask people the question, and record their audio responses. It was not too difficult of an assignment since our phones now a day can basically do anything you need. The question I chose was where would you like to study abroad if you could go anywhere? I thought this was a good one since I would be getting college students to answer my question. Here is my process:
- Asked students the question and recorded their answer using my iPhone voice memo app.
- Emailed all the answers to my email and downloaded them.
- They were saved as .m4a format so I needed to convert them to mp3 for audacity. To do that I used Zamzar which is a free converting site.
- Once they were converted, I opened them in audacity, cut a few sections out and that was all.
If I could study abroad anywhere in the would I would probably choose Australia. I don’t know exactly why I would go there except that it just seems like a really cool place with a lot of possibly adventures. Also, I would have to visit P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney (Yes that is a Finding Nemo Reference). Unless I hit the lottery very soon I won’t be going to Australia in the near future. The business department has a 13 day study abroad trip in the winter to Australia and the price was over $6,000!!!! I do not have anywhere close to that money right now. Hopefully once I get a job I can afford the $3,000 airline tickets.
