“You Ain’t Got Family In This World, What Do You Got?”

I really enjoyed episode 13. The thing that stood out to me the most was the conversation between D’Angelo and his mother. It was really interesting to see D’Angelo talk to the woman who raised him about his lie of crime and sin. When she said, “You ain’t got family in this world, what do you got?,” it made me wonder. I started thinking about every character and their surroundings. It seems that before their fallout D’Angelo and the rest of the Barksdale gang was a family. There was this sense of community throughout the whole drug gang. I could see that D’Angelo was lost and I thought that he feels that Wallace was his family. He saw that they  betrayed and killed him and it made him lose it in a sense. Speaking with his mother seems to make him reconsider his previous thoughts. D’Angelo has proven to be one of the most important characters throughout the whole first season.
