This week was a lot more work, but it was worth every second! The element of design extends to so many things, which can be taken for granite. I had fun doing the assignments, although some were more challenging than others. Overall this week went pretty smoothly! If you pay attention to the show and just in life, all the elements of design become more apparent that I typically would just over look.
The Wire- I did my summary based off of design elements that started to stood out to me.
Episode 9
Unity- All the police force comes together when the kid got killed in a street shooting.
Color- As usual, when something goes wrong the dominant color is red.
Symbol- The lion statue between the Greek and the other guy, symbolizes their power.
Episode 10
Color- I have been noticing that every can that contains something for the Greeks is red.. Like this one contains the stolen car.
Unity- The FBI stays together at first, as well as the people already working the case. They do end up working together, all in unity.
Minimalism and functionalism Here in this up close shot, with less space than usual, the message gets across exactly how Ziggy felt. The elements of Ziggy’s head spinning around and the tears going down his face, contribute to make that design so powerful.
Symbol- The shirt in, hindsight, could have been symbolic to someone getting shot.
Episode 11
Minimalism The focus was strictly in the rear view mirror, this gave a unique perspective. One can gather that the person in the screen shot is under surveillance, which is portrayed through this image.
Unity Making a toast/cheer between the Greek’s shows their unity to one another.
Symbol- Frank is trapped and stuck being loyal to the Greeks for his son. This image is symbolic of how Frank feels.

Answer Season 2, episode 11. This is the episode where Beatrice went undercover to do surveillance, thus the binoculars. Many people got arrested during this episode (handcuffs), thus causing some confusion within the power groups. Also, Frank’s Dad got confused to why he let Ziggy and Nick get away with stealing. Nick’s Dad and girlfriend were confused about the money and drugs. At the end it shows that the Greeks have power over Frank and just in general.
