“Lost In Generations Before Hatred”

There were a couple of things in episode 3 of the fourth season of The Wire that caught my attention. The first of these things came when Bunk tried to get McNulty to go out and drink. This caught my attention because I previously made a statement about Bunk and McNulty always drinking to calm there woes. This time around McNulty was resisting because it seems like he was trying to change his ways. If that’s true, McNulty has made me proud. I just have a problem with not facing your problems and getting through it. I guess I was glad to see him trying to change. The other thing about Bunk and McNulty was Bunk trying to force him to do what he wanted him to do. He was acting like he knew McNulty better than McNulty knew himself. That kind of bothered me. It was sort of like a symbol for obstacles that are in your life that are trying to get in the way of what you are trying to accomplish. The other thing that had me interested in the whole episode was when Omar went to the store. Initially I was laughing at everyone’s reaction to seeing him. Then once I saw him and Renaldo and he started to show his feelings about getting soft I was intrigued. I thought that maybe he was turning away from his old ways but now maybe not so much. He still has a little while longer to show his true true colors though.
