“Nothing Defeats The Beast”

One thing that stood out to me in the 11th episode of season 2 was Stringer Bell reaching out to Omar. I was ready for Stringer to make a move like he did and was kind of relieved when he got up with Omar. The thing about Omar that gets me is how observant he is. He is always watching and lurking. This isn’t the first time where he has been watching a person and waiting to make his move. It’s really interesting and I wonder if he ever second guesses any of his actions. His character is portrayed as this hard thuggish male but we also see his sensitive side. I wonder if any of his actions are based off of impulses that make him seem crazy. He is definitely a character that adds a lot to the series. Another thing that caught my attention in this episode was how McNulty and Greggs pressure White Mike into giving them information. I find it interesting that he would give up information so easy. Usually when people are involved with drugs they wait for their lawyer. That’s something that we saw early in the Barksdale organization. Every time one of them was caught up or arrested they waited for the lawyer to get there before they said anything, so that made me wonder about White Mike.
