“The Cheese Still Make Teeth Grow”

I think that episode six of season four was a great episode. There was a lot going on and i was thoroughly engaged all the way through the episode. One of the things that caught my attention was the religion that was incorporated into politics in the episode. Right off the bat we start off with all of the candidates in church. That for me was a  little weird but it speaks about how important the election is to them. I was torn over two things about this. The first is me being a little worried about their intentions on being in church. I think that there should be one reason and one reason only for you to be in church and that is to praise God. The other thing was how involved the minister was with the politics. I’ve always heard that you keep the two separate and he was just in the midst of it all. That was interesting to me. One of the other things that I really liked about the episode was how we now have this theme of helping young black people in school. The first time this is evident is with Prez and how he is starting to take control of his class and help his students. He also provides help individually it just takes a little effort from the students first. The other part was the Pilot Program that Bunny Colvin was helping with. When he was talking to Namond and telling him that it wasn’t a punishment, it was a way for them to learn better, I really got a sense of that theme. I enjoyed seeing those two who had lost their previous jobs turning right around and doing something significant.
