Wallace’s Last Day

I really enjoyed the interview with Jen Ralston. The first point that was made by both Professor Groom and Jen was that there is so much more to the show than just the storyline. I understood this because every time I go to watch the Groom/Bond discussion I find out way more about the show than when I watched it. It’ll probably be good to go back and watch the series again once we’re done just to see how much more we recognize. I also like what Jen said about being on the outside and entering their (the characters) world. As I watched the episodes for this week I began to see how the producers and directors move the audience and kept us where they wanted us, bringing the action to us and taking it away at their will. I was interested with Professor Groom’s words when he said the Kima scene had a certain “darkness” to it and how Jen said that the listener had the right to listen to everything happening in Kima’s car. Even when the camera was off of that particular car we still heard what was happening in that car. Another thing that caught my attention was when Jen was talking about Bubbles and being sober. She was saying something about us hearing what it sounds like in Bubbles’ sober life since this is new to us. It was very interesting because the scene was quiet and not a lot was happening so it was like a new or fresh start for Bubbles. I definitely enjoyed listening to this interview and all of the insight that I gained from it. I will now look and listen deeper into each of the episodes as I watch them.
