“We Could Be Like Neo In The Matrix”

One of the things that caught my attention in episode eight of the third season of The Wire was how far Pryzbylewski has come from season one. It seems as if him being the butt of everyone’s jokes in the first season just made him want to work harder and get  his act together. We don’t find him making the small mistakes anymore. What we see is progression. I feel like this is a message in itself about the police force getting closer and closer to finishing the job ad taking down the Barksdale organization. We Pryzbylewski doing more and more of the technical stuff. First it was decoding the numbers and now he’s tracking and tracing phones. It’s a whole other dimension to the show that keeps the audience engaged. The other thing that kept me interested in this episode was the way the Bunny Colvin and his friend the Deacon tried to clean up Hamsterdam. Not often do you see police trying to help out people who are in these situations because all of their focus is on, “getting the bad guy.” It’s nice that the writers incorporated this into the show maybe so our society would change its view towards the police. I think their is a definite negative connotation with police. This was a great way to add yet something else to keep the audience interested
