This was another great week in ds106. When I first saw that it was video week I almost panicked. I didn’t know what to expect other than a lot of confusion. It actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be at all. Let’s look at my work from the week and see what went down.

Video Discussion:

It took me forever but finally I did my first video discussion with Professors Groom and Bond. It was pretty fun listening to what everyone had to say about episode 9. The show can be unpacked at so many levels that it’s amazing. The majority of the discussion I was in amazement because of the points that were being made and how I missed that while I was watching the show. I got stuck on on aspect of the show and I think that was all that I could think about for the whole show and it held me back. I was able to contribute and start a little bit of conversation so I think it went well.

This week’s daily creates were fun. I had a lot of fun with the zeugma because it allowed me to be very creative and I was able to let my mind go and create. I didn’t worry about how to do it or exactly what the right words were, I just let my mind take over and become creative. I like the finished product. For the second daily create I did something that I had wanted to do for so long and that was take a picture of myself sleeping. It wasnt that hard just a little dark in my room but I still got the job done. I enjoyed both of the daily creates and I hope you enjoy my finished products. Let me know what you think.

This week’s Wire episodes continued to keep me interested and engaged in the show. This was yet another week where I found myself reading deeper into the show instead of just watching it. I like that there is so much that can be said about each individual episode and how it all comes together in one big circle. I’m really enjoying the show. Video Assignments:

I really enjoyed doing the video assignments this week. The hardest part was definitely rapping to a computer. You would think that it would be easy because no one is actually watching you but just knowing that so many people would hear me kind of made me nervous. I really enjoyed bragging about myself and my qualities. It was fun because it’s probably the only time I would ever do that. I would never be so boastful and obnoxious but it was fun pretending to be. I definitely had the least fun with the slideshow because it was so time consuming that it took a lot of the fun out of the work. I think they all came out well minus some minor audio problems, but give them a view and tell me what you think.

I loved these two pieces from my fellow classmates. The both caught my attention and made me smile. Each of them had something that stuck out to me and was the primary reason I posted them the wall. Go check them out on the wall and leave comments on their work for them. They deserve to know how good their work really is.

This was another great week in ds10, can’t wait for what’s to come.
