Brainstorming Ideas for The Wire Radio Show.. Feedback?

Rudy Tomjanovich once said, “Don’t ever underestimate the heart of a champion!” You know I always try to find a new TV series to watch after every time I finish a TV series. When I came back from Switzerland and was thinking what could I watch because I haven’t watched any TV series for a while. When I got the assignment from Professor Groom to watch The Wire, I was like thinking that the title sounds interesting so why not.

As soon as I started watching it, I was like glued to watching it. Later on when I started at UMW and did the assignments for Digital Storytelling (ds106). I started liking what I was doing. When Professor Groom gave us the assignment this week and we’re mostly focused on audio, I was thinking how it’s going to be an interesting assignment this week. Part of the assignment was to brainstorm and idea of a 20-30 minute Wire-themed radio show.

I was basically like this when I read we had to brainstorm an idea of a 20-30 minute Wire-themed radio show:

I’m really terrible with coming up with ideas especially with radio shows. Although I may have gotten some ideas. I really don’t know if it may be good or not but here are some suggestions I thought: First we start of the beginning of our radio show we play a radio bumper and then tell who’s in our radio show event, but the main event will be either like:

1) Since there are so many common things in the show that we can parallel with each other, I was thinking why not talk with the producer of The Wire and Jennifer Ralston about like how they got the audio and the parallel things to go on throughout the TV show since Professor Groom and Bond were able to interview Jennifer Ralston. Talk with the producer of The Wire and Jennifer Ralston. At the end of the show, we thank them for being on the show with us and we play a ds106 bumper that we will make for them since they worked very hard to make an awesome TV show that we are watching.

2) Tons of people are making their ds106 bumper. Not a lot has been played. Why not tweet it to us, we’ll play it, and give feedback about it. Compare it to The Wire as well like telling how it reminds of this scene etc. Then we reveal our favorite one at the end play it. That person can perhaps win a prize.

There’s one thing I want to either talk about or put my radio bumper in the show. JAY. Got to love Jay.

He’s one of my favorite characters. He’s a funny side character that helps McNulty and Bunk sometimes. You know in most of the cop TV shows, you got to love the side character sometimes.

Hope the couple ideas of my radio show is good!
