I like the contrast of light and dark here.

This makeshift bullet-proof vest type thing was really a cool invention of sorts, I guess you’d say. I also like how there’s a mirror in the background that shows the faces of the other people.

Omar’s situation really brings up a lot of moral gray areas as to what is the right way to do things and who is it that really should be behind bars.

Prez really seems to be finding his way. I also love this storage room. This show really knows how to make clutter look like art.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 8.51.16 AM

This was such an interesting shot. I didn’t expect it to be a police officer.

This incident between Bubbles and the police officer really shows how broken the system is. Bubbles is making a living by selling things illegally because he doesn’t have any other way of making a somewhat steady income. But because this is how he makes his income, the police officer won’t help him when he’s robbed because what he’s doing is illegal anyways, so he just takes some of Bubbles’ stuff. It’s as if there is no way to win.

The staging of this shot as well as the colors are really nice here.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.10.40 AM

The staging of this shot is really well done. A great use of thirds.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.19.27 AM

This colors in this scene are really nice and warm.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.21.17 AM

Much brighter versions of the colors we saw in the previous scene. We also have the red, yellow, and blue scheme.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.22.21 AM

Great use of thirds.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.24.19 AM

Another great use of thirds. Also, Kima looks very small in this shot as she’s just beginning to investigate and figure out what really happened.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.26.51 AM

This was such a haunting shot; I was afraid something bad was going to happen to her.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.28.10 AM

I like how the sign in the background uses “score” as a way to remember a particular set of behaviors. Yet another game-related word.

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 9.28.23 AM

This is a great way of showing power dynamics in this scene.
