See Right Through Me: The Wire Season 3, Episode 10 Analysis

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 5.31.07 PM

This reminds me a lot of the surveillance shots that we saw in the first season. They’re watching some people and we’re having to watch through their car window along with them.

I love how this shot is set up. Both are reading. There’s some red, yellow, and blue in the newspaper and the curtains are purple, which provides a hint of royalty.

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 5.32.43 PM

The colors in here are mostly neutral except for the grass and basketball hoop. I really like how those colors pop.

We haven’t seen much orange this season, but I like how it appears around the old site of the towers. There’s also plenty of green and red in this shot.

These two look very similar, especially in this lighting and the color of their shirts.

They’re wearing black and white, suggesting that they are approaching this situation from different sides, but they are both illuminated, so it suggests that they are both doing good work and have good intentions.

I love all the colors in this shot and the mix of garbage and overgrowth.

The hat along with the grenade gives off the war-vibe, which appears to be where we’ve headed.

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 6.00.09 PM

We’ve seen a lot of shots of Avon and Stringer standing in opposition to each other. I thought it was a nice touch for Stringer to move so that he was almost standing side by side with Avon when he said “we’re brothers.” However, they are still standing slightly perpendicular to each other.

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 6.03.04 PM

I love this overhead, close up shot.

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 6.03.17 PM

The same boys who didn’t get along and were wearing black and white are now seen wearing gray to suggest a new sense of uniformity amongst them as they given Dennis another try.
