The Baltimore News Radio

I was really impressed by The Baltimore New Radio show. The music, well researched facts, and news stories made it seem like an actual news show. I love how they merged the truth and fiction throughout the show as this is very much what The Wire is–a realistic representation of a real place with real problems, but shown through fictional people and events.

The blurring of the line between fiction and reality was executed well especially with the sounds. The background noises in the news segments, the radio music, and the music segments of songs related to the show and Baltimore really made this show sound real.

Their research also made this a really strong show. All the facts appropriate to the time and place really grounded the radio show in the context of The Wire.

The editing of various clips made it come across as a seamless, professional show. The details in all areas made this seem very realistic.

I feel like I learned a lot about Baltimore from this radio show. I’m super excited about being introduced to the music of Trey Chaney and appreciate that content like this was included in the show.

I can really tell that this group got along well and had a good time doing it, which was really awesome to hear because group projects can be difficult.
