Once again in the fourth episode of season 3 of The Wire we see Bunk and McNulty drunk. This has been a theme throughout the entire series so far. While watching this episode I was thinking to myself about these events. I was wondering if there was a message that this was supposed to be relaying. The only thing I could come up with is that people in the real world often do turn to drinking to solve their problems. It’s their way of coping. Just as some people smoke, others drink. This could be a total miss on my part but it’s what I was thinking while watching this episode. Another thing that caught my attention was the Town Hall meeting. For some reason this made me think about my county’s board of supervisor’s meetings. I love to see the citizens letting the police know about their frustrations. A lot of times you don’t see that because people are scared of the drug leaders. I love how they stepped up. I also respect Bunny for letting them know that he doesn’t have the answers to their questions. I also like that he told them everything that the police were doing to instill a little trust in them. I think that relationship between the citizens and the police will grow and play a big role in the show.
