#ds106, #wire106, Giffin The Wire

Hello everyone.  This week was an eventful week.  I learned so much this week while making the six gifs.  This is a skill that I never thought that I would need or learn. 🙂  My kids are highly impressed since so many of the youtube videos that they watch have gifs in them or the gifs that they laugh at on Facebook.

I worked on a tutorial but I am going to go back and add screen shots.  It may help any if you get updated copies of MPEG streamclip or gimp 2.8.14. (which had to be downloaded in two parts. The first download was the upgrade to 2.0 and the second download that I eventually found was for gimp 2.0)

I enjoyed meeting a few members of the class this week and having lunch with Jim.  (Thanks for the awesome lunch!)  We had so much to talk about in our favorite characters and problems that we were facing.  (We also exchanged Twitter addresses)  It helped us build a little more of a connect to our fellow 106′ers.

As for my blog, it helped me so much to know that I could use #ds106 and #wire106 to get my blog on the page faster. (Completely new to Twitter so I had no idea of the power of a hash tag.)  I also took your advice Jim and updated my theme on my website.  I picked a theme that is more blog friendly.  It has really helped me get a better understanding of where everything comes from and goes on this blog. (completely new to the concept of a blog)

In the midst of all of this, I also had my own Wire moment.  My oldest son has gone back into treatment today.  Praying that he will come home in a much better state.  Aiming for a Bubbles attitude and not the kid that hangs with Bubbles.  I don’t know of others in this class, but The Wire hits really close to home in many episodes.  I will leave this more for a paper on The Wire.

Hope everyone has a wonderful new week this upcoming week.
