This week was all focused on the visual! It is truly amazing how many things contribute to creating a perfect visual. I loved doing the assignments, it is amazing what you can do to any given image.
The Wire:
Episode 6- This episode was so sad because D’Angelo died.. Did not see that one coming!
A common theme that became very apparent was the over the shoulder view.
Something else I started to pick up one was they focused on one person a lot, and blurred out the background or foreground to catch your eye.
Episode 7-
The shadowing on Frank make him look like he feels trapped, I’ve noticed he typically has that shadow on him during serious talks.
D’Angelo’s funeral.. The green tent was symbolic to me that D was a good man and was innocent in his murder. Love how the view is cloudy with dead trees, really gets the feel of his funeral across.
The only girl in red, let alone a bright color.. Possible foreshadowing?
Love how they focused on Kima’s face in the side view mirror and blurred everything out.
Episode 8- This is the episode I did my tweet along too! Watching an episode with no sound, really lets your eyes just wander. You notice things that you wouldn’t have with sound, visuals still can tell the story just as well if you pay attention to all the little details.
