Reverse audio assignment: A test of my sanity

Today I did my first audio assignment where I had to reverse a song. It was not so simple as I had imagined and it actually took the better part of my day and sanity. I started with trying to figure it out myself, obviously no luck there. I moved on to find a video to help me. I had worked with Audacity before, but could not figure out how to get my song in there, so I instead tried a very convoluted way from online instructions which involved both imovie and garageband. To my disdain and frustration, I again failed.

Finally, I went to the source, the Reverend Jim Groom, who showed me how to download a song form YouTube and reverse it in Audacity. Thus I was able to find my video and download it through a ‘pwn’ portal of some sort. However, my problems did not end even after easily reversing my song once it was in Audacity. I had to download YET ANOTHER application just so I could save my song to my computer. Finally, I saved it and used Known to get it onto Twitter and SoundCloud, though I had to fix a few things in SoundCloud that did not carry over through Known for some reason.

The experience was frustrating and reminded me of why I never wanted to touch technology, but I did it! I stuck to my project and finished it and for that I am unnecessarily proud of myself! At any rate, here are the clues to my song!

Guess the song:
1. Part of the song title reflects a time period in French culture.
2. You could say the band is royal.
3. Someone in the band has a planet in their name.
Do you know what it is?
