3,4,5 To Infinity

It’s almost as if this show will never end. Just when I think the gang (of officers) broke up, in episode 5 of season 2 they reunite! Except without McNulty, as of right now. He really did mess up.. So here are my thoughts on each of the episodes!

Episode 3:

Looks like Omar hasn’t changed one bit. He obviously has a new boyfriend since his last one was, well, killed. He also has his new BF stealing the stashes of other drug dealers with him. Hopefully he learned his lesson to not steal from Avon. Anyways, let’s get back to the docks. Freeman and Moreland really need to catch a break with this case. Too bad nobody knows how to speak english on the boat, or at least they claim not to.. Those guys really know how to stick together. So this was just another bust for the case. I don’t blame Freeman and Moreland for letting the ship go, i mean how long could they really have held it? Now to the drugs. I know that Avon told Stringer about the guard who was giving him a hard time but i didn’t know how they were going to handle it. After they stalked him, i immediately thought they would just kill them. What i needed to keep in mind was that Avon and Stringer aren’t dumb, they’re going to work this guy to their advantage, which you find out in the next episode. What i find to be most important about this episode is Valchek finally listening to his poor son-in-law. He might have been a screw when it came to patrolling but this kid knows how to work cases. I love how Valchek played the soon to be commissioner by threatening to sway votes NOT in his direction. I wish that this threat was big enough to get McNulty back.. There’s so much more to this episode but i’ll finish off with Avon talking to D in the library. I don’t understand why Avon is surprised that D is doing drugs. DUDE! You locked him up for 20 years. Avon was just too subtle when telling him that he should try to quit the drugs. What if D was so upset that he did more drugs just to make Avon man (like a little boy ? Because then comes the part where the people who did take the drugs die. D COULD HAVE DIED! Why put him at more risk! He should have told D to straight up NOT take the drugs. Ugh. Next Episode!

Episode 4:

Daniels is on his way out, or at least he wants to be. I always thought that people who graduate form law school automatically take the state Bar exam, just to have a law degree? What’s the point in studying for 4 straight years about law and then not take the exam? Daniels could have been out a lot faster if he already had it… Anyways, now the soon-to-be commissioner has to beg Daniels to stay. He gives him a sweet offer by allowing him to run his own squad and working above ground. The light! Now let’s shift over to the docks. Why did Nick and Ziggy not think their uncle/dad would find out about the cameras? Dude, he runs the place. Don’t look too shocked. I thought that was a little weird. Ziggy is just a clueless kid. You would think his dad would have him under his wing 24/7 but i guess now. I do feel like they didn’t get enough money from those cameras. only 20k by 3 people? If they got caught, 20k wouldn’t be worth it. i would have asked for like 30k, but that’s just because i’m greedy. Now, let’s talk about D and that drug thing. I’m still shocked that Avon didn’t tell him. Maybe he knows deep down that D is a good person and would have warned the people before they took the drugs. You later learn that the reason he spiked the drugs was to get a shorter sentence. Avon is seriously the man. He makes life just a game that he constantly wins. On a more important note, where did they find this lawyer? This guy gets them out of anything. In case i ever tangle with the law, i want this guy on my side. I probably couldn’t afford him anyways. My final note on this episode goes back to the gang. My heart broke when Rawls said no to McNulty joining. LET IT GO, RAWLS. But McNulty isn’t stupid, he will find a way to meddle with the case. Doesn’t he always? Now that the gang is back, what’s going to stop them from another “career” case.

Episode 5

Ah, come on Ziggy, get your act together! No matter what this kid does, he always screws up. You would he would have learned by the 10000000th time, right? Out of all things, did he really have to mess with drugs? If he stayed with stealing creates, his dad could have covered his back. Now he messed up a package and poor Princess has been taken hostage. Not Princess! What i do like is how Nick is trying to be responsible and attempts to buy his aunt’s old house. Even if it is with dirty money. Too bad the house is like 300k. Psh. Next comes D’s baby mama. How can Darnette go the visit D after she’s hooking up with Stringer? That’s cold, man. You can tell when they’re having their conversation though the glass that his eyes are just focused on his kid. I feel like D cherishes him because he’s the only “Family” that’s pure. He’s seen no darkness and D probably wants to raise him right. But then comes Darnette preaching about family when Avon threw him in jail and almost killed him with those spiked drugs. Too soon, yo. Let’s go back to Valchek. Yet again, another photo of his stolen van is mailed to him. Valchek ain’t no dummy. He catches something that i doubt i would have caught. Fingerprints! I’m hoping he can match it up to someone else. That would be great. I’m cutting this short but those are the parts i enjoyed/thought were important!
