An Unforgettable Journey Back To Earth – Gravity

Gravity Map

For today’s daily create I did Sandra Bullock’s journey in the movie Gravity. This movie had a huge amount of hype that it was going to be amazing before it was released. I do not think it was a great movie and I will probably never watch it again. It all starts with Dr. Stone (Sandra Bullock) and Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) on the Explorer. They are going to the Hubble Space Telescope to complete some service on it. While on the space walk, debris in space from a Russian missile strike hits the Explorer detaching Dr. Stone from the shuttle. Matt uses a manned maneuvering unit to recover Dr. Stone. They then use their thruster pack to get to the International Space Station (ISS). When they arrive at the ISS, the crew had already evacuated using one of the two Soyuz Modules. The 2nd Soyuz parachute was deployed making the capsule useless for reentering the atmosphere. They decide to go to the Tiangong, Chinese space station, to return to Earth. When trying to enter the ISS, Matt gets tangled in the released parachute. A bunch of stupid drama happens. Matt says he is going to cut himself loose to save Dr. Stone. Then Dr. Stone is like NOOOOO Blah Blah Blah and he cuts himself loose and floats away. Dr. Stone makes it to the Chinese space station by using the Soyuz, then enters the Shenzhou capsule to go back to earth. More drama with the Chinese space station breaking apart. Then she makes it back to the earth, lands in a lake, and swims to shore. End of movie.
