Blowing Up Your Newsfeed

Similar to last week, we have to do another live tweeting of an episode from the assigned episodes this week. I wanted to get a head start so i decided to start on the first viewing: Episode 6 of Season 2. I watched the episode ahead of time because that’s just the way i roll. Well, i just didn’t want to watch it without sound then have to rewatch it with sound and be all confused. Oh! Yes. For this week we had to watch the episode without sound, paying attention to the visuals.

Thoughts:

Watching without sound is a little more difficult, at least for me. When you’re just watching and not listening, it’s really easy to get distracted and not really pay attention to the details. Last week, when we had to only listen to the audio, it was easy because i was paying attention to the story while picturing what’s going on. Visuals are a lot harder for me. What i did notice in the episode that i didn’t when i watched it with sound were colors and facial expressions. The biggest color change i noticed was the courtroom with Omar testifying. I even tweeted about it because it was the obvious. All of the colors in the room (ties, suits, shoes, etc) were plain. They were the same cream and greys in different shades. All i could think about was how boring it was. Then comes Omar with his black jacket and red lining/words on it. Wow, did he stand out! I felt as if this had to do with Omar’s up bringing. The only time he is in a court is when he’s being charged, at least to my knowledge. Now he’s on the other side helping the police. It just doesn’t fit and i believe that’s why his outfit stands out. Overall, the visuals in each episode link you to other scenes (parallels) and show you a different meaning to everything. Maybe i’ll join in on tomorrow’s live tweet just for fun ;) Here are some screen shots of my tweets or you can roll over to my twitter page here and scroll!
