W-MAD (“Make Art Dammit!”) Radio

Radio Show Progress

This week, Stephanie, Brittany, and I finally named our radio group and planned what segments to include in our Wire-themed show. Brittany came up with the awesome idea to pull some inspiration from Jim Groom and call our radio “WMAD Radio” which stands for “Make Art Dammit” radio. The show title, in my opinion, is super catchy! Hopefully listeners will catch on to the name as quickly as we did.

As for the content of our show, we wanted to include segments of individual explanation rather than group discussion in which we discuss the theme of corruption throughout the show. Since we have three members in our group, we decided to split up the discussion topics by group in The Wire. Each member would discuss corruption within the Police Department, the Barksdale Crew, and the Stevedore Crew/Sobotka’s in their 7-9 minute segment. In our individual discussions we would include sound clips from the show to better explain our speaking points and to provide the listener with some insight on what we are discussing. I’m very excited for the three of us to combine all of our segments and bumpers to create a final, polished 20-30 minute show!

I found the image below on Google Images that I thought was very well-made and creative! Wondering who the author of this fine work is…
