The “Paste Someone’s Head On An Animal” design assignment was quite fun. I am still trying to develop my Photoshop skills but I think this turned out halfway decent. While watching the recent Wire episode I came across this one. I actually saw it will Ziggy was walking his duck or sitting at the bar with it. I decided to put Ziggy’s head on the duck. Once Ziggy got the duck as a pet it started his decline in the show. I am not going to ruin what happens in episode 10 for those who haven’t watched it yet but now looking back at previous episodes his crazy thought of buying a duck and putting a leash on it showed his turning point as a character. After that he just kept making stupid decisions leading to what he does in episode 10.

My Process of creating this photo started with finding the right pictures.

   

 

 

I then opened them in Photoshop. I used the magnetic lasso around Zig’s head in order to crop it out.

 

 

 

Then I right clicked in the part lassoed and chose “layer via cut” which then made his head a separate layer. I deleted the background area to get just his head.

 

 

Next I used the move tool to drag Zig’s head onto the picture of the duck. Once it was on the same picture I moved it around and then using the pencil tried to blend it in. I chose th color white and change the opaciy down to 15%-20% to try to create a blend effect. Its definitely not perfect but turned out ok.
