Jennifer Ralston Interview

I listen to Jennifer Ralston Interview on #DS106 Radio. I’m glad that she introduced herself because I wasn’t quite sure who she was. That were doing “Audio” this week it was really good to hear her because that’s what she does as a living and because she actually worked with the show “The Wire”. When Groom bring up the statement of how we would be working with people that are working with sound for the first time, I definitely can relate, because I haven’t worked with sound at all. As I said before that she works with sound is very cool because this week is “Audio Week” but that she worked with ‘The Wire” is even cooler! Jennifer Ralston talked about ADR and Luke Group maybe, but I had never heard of that. She did talk about how she wasn’t on set that much but she did see the couch, I would think someone that is ahead of sound would be on the set all the time, but as she said she wash’t that much. Also she talked about the “orange couch” which is something that to me was significant in some of the episodes. One thing that I head was very interesting to me was how when she went to Baltimore and did recordings for backgrounds and then sent some of the  sound team to Baltimore to do sound for the show, that’s very interesting, but I bet fun. When she talked about how some sounds were noisy and sometimes that could be a good thing but in other times at the show it may not be a good thing or not. You just have to determine what the sence has going on in the background and depict that through the show. Going on what Jennifer Ralston talked about in the end, about the rampup the sound starting right before the song played, I never really paid attention to that. Groom talked about giving advice to us doing Audio from Jennifer Ralston, Thanks for the Advice !! Great Interview.
